Barrow-in-Furness is a station in England that is the terminus to the North West Railway from The Main Line starting at Tidmouth and British Railways starting from their capital city of London. The North West Railway has been running trains here since an argeement with the LMS in 1925. Caden is a shunter here.
Sodor: The Early Years
Barrow-in-Furness is seen in some episodes of Sodor: The Early Years like Season 3's First Impressions where both Diesel and Alfred were at its roundhouse after a difficult night in bringing two trains up the hill without the LNER B12 having to be laughed at by Gordon. Another Season 3 episode was Henry Sees Red where he gives the express to Patrick following an emergency at Tidmouth Sheds because of a jammed turntable. Sir Charles Topham Hatt was on the train and forgave Henry for his red undercoat before the stationmaster told him about the turntable. Thomas can be seen during Douglas the Brave where Donald and Douglas arrive in Barrow to get Donald's number painted on and leave for Tidmouth station. Henry gave Patrick another express train due to Gordon's repair of his suspension spring in episode forty-five, Iron Hero.
Sodor: The Modern Years
In the Winds of Change feature-length, Shane arrives to speak to both Sheffield and Henry at the roundhouse in Barrow. Sheffield said that diesels replaced steam engines due to their cheapness from British Railways in the 1960s. The location will be used for Sodor: The Modern Years when an episode from the first season will have the appearance of Barrow-in-Furness is seen on air by the narrator.
In his Answer Time, WildNorWester said the route was made by someone with the footage from Season 3's Escape as the key detail into the route being created such as the viaduct that crosses the water between both Vicarstown and Barrow-in-Furness.
