Douglas Anderson is the driver of Douglas in a two-part episode where the Scottish twins escaped to the Island of Sodor from both scrap and dieselization. Anderson had given his name to Douglas when he first started his job on a Scottish railway in 1959.
Bio
Douglas Anderson said that Douglas will wait for twenty minutes as Douglas' plan will be held on Wednesday night when Donald goes to the NWR for his first job. The Scottish engine later said that his number, 57647 will be painted on later as said by his driver and they cannot afford to be delayed. This is said at the end of Decisions which has the words "TO BE CONTINUED" down the bottom of the screen where the audience is watching the thirty-eighth episode. In part two after a special passenger train was delayed for ten minutes, Douglas Anderson said to him that he doesn't need to worry and they can wait a little bit longer before Donald arrives.
Douglas later had his number painted on and joined Donald in an attempt to escape from scrap and passing dieselization. The escape attempt was so successful that an inspector said that one Scottish engine was only needed in the paperwork of Sir Charles Topham Hatt not two of them at once this very minute.
