Hubert the Hovercraft is a hovercraft who was introduced in Season 2 of Sodor: The Modern Years.
Hubert operates a ferry service from the Island to Blackpool. He was originally built in Hamburg, Germany before being brought to the United Kingdom for ferry services. This also explains his accent. He is a friendly fellow, always willing to help a friend in need. He was first mentioned in Swan Song when Emily Hatt told Thomas about a 'hoverboat service'. Then, in Surf Line he exchanged a conversation about the main line express with Evan and Owen. Hubert later helped with Edwin's passengers when a boat takes out the lift bridge.
- Season 2 STMY - Swan Song (not named, mentioned), Surf Line, Engines of All Trades (does not speak) and Dime For Trouble
Hubert's design is a combination of multiple real-life hovercraft designs, most notably the SR.N4 cross-channel hovercraft, and the United States Navy Landing Craft Air Cushion. His tail section was inspired by that of Thunderbird Two.
- It appears his faces, as well as Andreas', are based on that of Max and Monty from the TV series.
