The Wellsworth and Suddery Railway is one of the three original railways on Sodor.

It was built and opened in 1870 and ran from Crosby to Brendam. It was operated by Colin, Lily, and Adam.

The line joined with the Tidmouth, Knapford and Elsbridge Light Railway, creating which became the Tidmouth, Wellsworth and Suddery Railway in 1912. Then, the Sodor & Mainland Railway joined that railway to form the North Western Railway in 1914. Part of the line became Edward's Branch Line, which runs from Wellsworth to Brendam.

After this merging, the engines still were in service, but during the Great Depression in 1934, all three of the W&S engines were sent for scrap. Lily managed to escape, but Colin and Adam were scrapped. Lily's ship, however, sunk. In 2009, Lily was re-discovered; and she now works on the Ffarquhar Branch Line. The line has appeared more frequently in flashbacks in Sodor: The Modern Years.
