Worked Out is the seventh episode of Season 4, and the forty-third episode overall.
One night, James returns to the sheds after his repairs and meets Bear. As is the case with all diesels, he is a little apprehensive, but welcomes him anyway. However, Bear is upset because he has to return to The Other Railway.
The next morning, Diesel is getting the first trains for the day ready. Presently, Donald arrives with some fish vans containing the first catches of the day. Diesel explains that he would sort the trucks out when a siding becomes available. As well as this, Henry arrives and his departure track is empty, causing more confusion. Donald suggests a deputation, but Diesel dismisses it and continues shunting. The trucks begin to sing and tease, and this is the last straw for Diesel, who stops work altogether.
The Fat Controller sends Diesel to the shed, and arranges for Bear to return to the railway full time, to which Bear is delighted. The next day, Bear's stay is confirmed and The Fat Controller tells Diesel that Bear will help with the jobs, and to not go on strike again. Diesel is happy with this arrangement and returns to Knapford Yards.
